Salt and Light Foundation, Inc. is a grassroots 501(c)(3) charitable organization started by a group of family and friends that came together to meet the needs of families in crisis.

Help Families In Crisis
Food
Lack of access to food in Sri Lanka is crippling families. Help provide ready meals (MREs), rice, fruit and other foods to those in need.
Medicine
There's a severe shortage of essential medicines and medical care in Sri Lanka. Help provide basic medicine to the sick.
Housing Costs
Help those facing area-wide daily blackouts and electricity costs that have risen dramatically, have housing, power and cooking gas.
Educational Resources
Education is crucial in breaking the cycle of poverty and overcoming trauma. Donations help provide school supplies and materials.
There is a family here with two children. They are the same as us. They do not have a steady job. The child went to the hospital because of an eye strain. Later I found out that it was a tumor on the head, and the hospital was stopped.
Today I was able to meet the mother of that child. That mother and father were crying a bit. The child’s head tumor was cancer. Child is 6 years old. I couldn’t bear it. I brought fruits and food to that child on the way to school. They said she’s doing chemo. There is not much medicine in Sri Lanka.
